WEDDING PROGRAMS

 CEREMONY PROCESSION

ATTIRE
The attire for the wedding is "NYC Formal". What that means is dressy (suits and tie for men, cocktail dresses and gowns for ladies), but with an edge. After all, you will be in the fashion capital of the world!

We love really skinny black suits with slim ties, mini dresses with full skirts, 50s and 60s style influences like capped sleeved dresses and peter pan collars on men, and well tailored clothing. We especially want to see fun accessories. But, anything dressy that you are comfortable with goes.

Black, gray, blues, deep reds, and jewel tones are flattering on almost everyone. Neon is not. Dress shoes for men please, but black Converses or black Vans are acceptable. Ladies, you look good in your heels and your sacrifice for fashion is appreciated, but we'll understand if you need to bring a pair of your cute flats to switch into at the end of the night. We can't wait to see you all at the wedding!

CEREMONY
We love children, and we especially love your children, but please no children under the age of 10 during the ceremony. We will have two great and experienced babysitters provided to take care of your young ones for the hour during the ceremony.  After the ceremony, your children can join you at your table. Should you wish to hire your own babysitter at the hotel to take care of the kids all night, then please reach out and we can provide more information.

OFFICIANT
The ceremony will be performed by Rev Susanna Macomb, who is an experienced interfaith and multi-cultural wedding officiant, named by Time Out Magazine as one of the top ten officiants in New York. She has performed nearly 2,000 weddings and literally wrote the book on interfaith ceremonies, called Joining Hands and Hearts

SITE
Our wedding ceremony and reception will take place at Capitale, a registered National Historical building, located in the Lower East Side.

Capitale is a classic 1895 landmark that initially served as the first Bowery Savings Bank. Banks were way fancier back then compared to the Chase's we have now. The building is adorned with Corinthian columns, Venetian glass, marble mosaic floors and super high decorated ceilings.

Standing majestically at 130 Bowery at Grand, this impressive 40,000 square foot space was built by legendary NY architect Stanford White.

How great is his mustache?! He built so many amazing landmarks in NYC, including Washington Square Arch, the original Madison Square Garden, and Brooklyn Museum.

Sadly, his life took a scandalous turn in 1906 when he was murdered by millionaire Harry Kendall Thaw over White's affair with Thaw's wife (actress Evelyn Nesbit). There was a huge trial over the murder which was dubbed at the time as "The Trial of the Century".
