ABOUT US

Elhaam met Mat at a Razorlight concert via a friend. She had a spare ticket and Mat showed up as her plus one (hence the ticket Save The Dates). After a few months, and a budding friendship, Elhaam very shyly asked Mat over for dinner. Not quite sure what his reaction would be, she said it was a small dinner party and quickly invited two more friends to join.

She spent the entire next day cooking a 3 course meal for 4 people. On the menu was a very spicy Thai Sweet Potato soup, Beef and baby corn stir fry with rice, and French apple puff pastries. Fortunately, good food was the first key to Mat's heart and they've been a great team ever since.

When their discussions started including plans of a future marriage, Elhaam and Mat knew they wanted to be together forever. Although Mat always made sure to say "distant future", in order to throw Elhaam off about the upcoming proposal he was planning in his hometown of Leeds.

Mat took Elhaam off to the English countryside to meet his family, and there, in his great Aunt's home, he hid a beautiful antique engagement ring in a vase. She stumbled across it and assumed it was his Aunt's and couldn't believe how perfect it was, not realizing Mat was about to propose.

When Mat got on his knee, a wave of emotions took over Elhaam and she cried with happiness and of course accepted his proposal and they quickly set their date for November 12, 2010 in New York City. They're enjoying their engagement, as it will be a brief one, and working on all the wedding planning together. They love a challenge.

Mat and Elhaam adore their black kitty Magellan, and spend lots of time cuddling with him. They enjoy playing boardgames together like Scrabble, even though their competitive nature can sometimes get the best of them. Mat often sweeps Elhaam away on fun dates to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, picnics in Central Park, and  hand-held walks around the city.

You'll often find them at a rock show, many times a Your Vegas gig, with Elhaam standing up front singing and dancing along. More than anything, they love spending time together and working on projects. They're both looking forward to the wedding and have big dreams for their future together.
