Our wedding invites were a little cryptic, I agree, but who doesn't love a bit of mystery? I meant to include information about the attire for the wedding on the invitation insert cards, but forgot. The "dress code" for the night is formal. But we are in NYC, the fashion capital of the world, so please do have fun with it!
We're looking for suits and ties for the men, gowns and cocktail dresses for the ladies. Heels are appreciated, but flats are smart to bring along for later in the night. Men, dress shoes are preferred, but black vans will do. No sneakers.
As for colors, we don't have any themes going, so no worries there, but it is Fall, so jewel tones are appropriate and are flattering on everyone. Neon however, is harder to pull off, so maybe save the bright colors for our big Saturday night blowout bash.
And I know it's not even necessary to mention, no one in white, cream, or ivory dresses other than moi. Thank you!
The masked ball theme and references on the invites are linked to our inspiration from the movie the Labyrinth. Beautiful Venetian masks will be provided for everyone during the reception, so you do not need to bring masks with you.
We're hoping you enjoy the masks and have fun wearing them during the reception. They should make the photos really interesting!
